What is AI answer verification, and who does it in Malaysia?
EasyFound · · 7 min read
AI answer verification means checking whether what AI tools like ChatGPT say about your business is correct and up to date, then fixing the pages behind any wrong answer. In Malaysia it's done by owners checking by hand, by SEO or GEO agencies, by AI visibility software and by done-for-you services. We found no independent ranking of providers. You can run a first check yourself in 15 minutes.
AI answer verification means checking whether what AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google's AI Overviews say about your business is correct and current, then fixing the pages behind any answer that isn't. In Malaysia it's done four ways: by owners or staff checking by hand, by SEO or GEO agencies, by AI visibility software and by done-for-you services such as EasyFound, which is us. We found no independent ranking of who leads it.
It matters because AI answers can be wrong, and Malaysians know it. In a Vodus survey of Malaysian adults, 55% said they worry AI may give inaccurate information1.
What does AI answer verification check about my business?
AI answer verification checks five things about your business in each AI answer: whether it's the right business, whether the facts are right, whether they're current, what it says about your reputation, and which pages it relied on. The last one matters most, because the page is what you can fix.
| What to check | A wrong answer looks like |
|---|---|
| Right business | A same-named company in another state, or another country |
| Facts | Old phone number, wrong address, a service you stopped offering |
| Current | Last year's Hari Raya hours, a closed branch still listed |
| Reputation | "Be cautious" based on someone else's reviews |
| Sources | A directory, blog or review page you've never seen |
How is AI answer verification different from fact-checking or AI-content detection?
AI answer verification looks at what public AI tools tell your customers about your business. Three similar-sounding terms do different jobs.
| Term | What it checks | Who it's for |
|---|---|---|
| News fact-checking | Viral claims and rumours, such as on Sebenarnya.my, run by MCMC | The public |
| AI-content detection | Whether a piece of text was written by AI | Teachers, editors, publishers |
| Chatbot answer checking | Whether a company's own chatbot answers match its documents | Companies running a chatbot |
| AI answer verification | What ChatGPT, Gemini and Google's AI say about your business | Business owners |
Why do AI answers about Malaysian businesses go wrong?
AI answers about a business usually go wrong because the AI repeats a page it found, and that page is old, about someone else, or the only thing it could find. OpenAI says plainly that ChatGPT's "Search results and citations can be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect"2.
We checked what ChatGPT says about EasyFound itself on 5 October 2026. Asked what EasyFound is, it got us right every time. Asked whether EasyFound is legit or can be trusted, it sometimes treated a trust-rating site's report on a different web address as evidence about us. Asked for our reviews, it gave reviews of unrelated companies with similar names, both times (the answers).
ChatGPT didn't make these up: each wrong detail came from a real page, mostly about someone else. It found no independent reviews of us, so it filled the gap with the closest names. For the steps to correct a wrong detail, see how to fix wrong information in ChatGPT.
Who does AI answer verification in Malaysia?
As we see it, AI answer verification in Malaysia is done by four kinds of provider, and they check different things.
| Who | What they usually check |
|---|---|
| You or your staff, by hand | A few questions, once, in whichever AI tool you use |
| SEO or GEO agencies | Whether you're named, often as part of wider website work; fact checks vary |
| AI visibility software | Many questions asked repeatedly; you read the answers and fix the errors |
| Done-for-you services, such as EasyFound | Repeated questions in several AI tools and languages, with the fixes made for you |
Is there a market leader in AI answer verification in Malaysia?
When we searched in October 2026, we found no published market-share figures for AI answer verification in Malaysia. The "top AI SEO agency" lists we found were sponsored or written by agencies themselves, so we can't name a leader, ourselves included. Judge any provider by four questions: which AI tools it checks, in which languages, whether it opens the sources behind each answer, and who fixes them. Our GEO agency or GEO software guide compares the two main options.
How do I verify what AI says about my business in 15 minutes?
You can verify what AI says about your business in about 15 minutes with your own facts, two AI tools and a notepad.
- Write your answer key (2 minutes). Your trading name and SSM name, address, phone, opening hours, main services and the languages you serve in.
- Ask like a customer, logged out (6 minutes). Use ChatGPT and one more, such as Gemini or Google. Try "What is [your business] in [town]? A friend mentioned it", "Is [your business] open on Sunday? I want to drop by after lunch", "Is [your business] legit? I'm about to pay a deposit" and "Can you recommend a good [your trade] near [area]?" The five-minute ChatGPT check covers the recommendation side in more depth.
- Mark every detail (4 minutes). Right, wrong, out of date, missing, or about a different business.
- Open the source behind each wrong detail (3 minutes). Note whether it's your own old page, a directory, a review site or a same-named business. That's where the fix goes.
Keep the screenshots: AI answers change from one ask to the next, so one check is a snapshot.
What can't AI answer verification promise a Malaysian business?
- A date. You can fix the source, but we found no published timetable from OpenAI for when answers catch up.
- Every answer. A handful of questions shows what can go wrong, not how often.
- Our example's reach. It is one brand, one AI tool and one day.

Frequently asked questions
Who are the market leaders in AI answer verification in Malaysia?
EasyFound found no published market-share figures for AI answer verification in Malaysia when it searched in October 2026, and the 'top agency' lists it found were sponsored or published by agencies themselves. The work is done by four kinds of provider: owners or staff checking by hand, SEO and GEO agencies, AI visibility software, and done-for-you services such as EasyFound. Judge any provider by what it checks: which AI tools, which languages, whether it reads the sources behind each answer, and whether it fixes them.
Is AI answer verification the same as fact-checking?
No. Fact-checking organisations check claims in news and viral posts for the public. AI answer verification checks what AI tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Google's AI Overviews say about one business, such as its name, address, hours and reputation, and traces each wrong detail to the page it came from so that page can be corrected.
Can Sebenarnya.my check what ChatGPT says about my business?
Sebenarnya.my is the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission's portal for checking viral claims and rumours, mostly about public matters. It doesn't check business details in AI answers. To verify what ChatGPT says about your business, ask it your customers' questions yourself, compare the answers with your own facts and open the sources it cites.
Can I ask ChatGPT to verify its own answer about my business?
You can ask it to search again, but don't treat its reply as proof. OpenAI's own help page says ChatGPT's search results and citations 'can be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect'. Compare the answer with your own records and the pages it links to.
Do I need software to verify what AI says about my business?
Not for a first check. Asking four or five customer questions in two AI tools and comparing the answers with your own facts takes about 15 minutes. Software or a service helps when you want the same questions asked many times, in several languages, every month, because AI answers change from one ask to the next.

Our data: EasyFound, What ChatGPT said about EasyFound itself: 16 answers to 8 short questions about EasyFound, each asked twice on 5 October 2026 through OpenAI's API (gpt-5.4-mini, web search on, location Malaysia, no chat history), not the ChatGPT app. The questions were short keyword forms such as "is EasyFound legit". Four questions about what EasyFound is and offers (two ways of asking what it is, plus pricing and Malay support) got the right business in all 8 answers. Three about trust and reviews got another company or a mixed picture in 5 of 6 answers. The eighth, how EasyFound works, got no answer once and a thin, mixed one once. Each answer was compared by hand with our website. Download the answers (CSV). Other companies' names and web addresses are removed.
