Which WhatsApp chatbot builders does ChatGPT recommend in the Klang Valley?

EasyFound · · 7 min read

TL;DR

ChatGPT recommended mostly small Malaysian WhatsApp chatbot companies whose own websites explained what they build, for which trade and where they're based. In our Klang Valley test, it often linked a page written for the asker's trade, and it kept repeating each builder's town and whether it used the official WhatsApp platform. Builders who want to be named should spell those facts out, one page per trade.

ChatGPT recommended mostly small Malaysian WhatsApp chatbot companies whose own websites spelled out what they build, for which trade and where they're based. In our Klang Valley test, a clinic in Subang and a car workshop in Puchong were each pointed first to a builder based in that town. For property agencies and restaurants, most of its links went to a page written for that trade.

A property agency owner in PJ asks "I want a WhatsApp bot to answer enquiries, who can build one?" Our test asked ten questions like that, twice each. The answers named 47 different companies between them.

Which WhatsApp chatbot builders did ChatGPT recommend in the Klang Valley?

ChatGPT recommended mostly small, specialised Malaysian chatbot companies. Every one of the 20 answers named at least one (CSV). One company came up in 11 of them, more than any other.

As with IT support firms, builders' own websites took nearly all the links: 84 of 88.

What ChatGPT repeated about WhatsApp chatbot builders in 20 answers (EasyFound test, 6 October 2026; CSV)
What the answer said Answers
Meta's official WhatsApp Business Platform, as advice or a selling point 15
Where a builder is based 13
A builder's own published price 12
Which languages a builder's bot handles, e.g. multilingual BM, English and Chinese 10
Whether a builder is a Meta partner 2

Partner status came up only in the two answers to the question that asked about it, like Microsoft and AWS tiers for IT firms. Languages came up in 8 of the 18 answers that didn't ask. The official platform and a builder's own price came up in answers to questions that mentioned neither.

Does ChatGPT recommend a WhatsApp chatbot builder or a platform?

ChatGPT recommended a builder or a platform depending on the wording. Questions like "Looking for someone near Puchong who can set up a WhatsApp chatbot so my car workshop replies to customers faster" got companies that do the work for you. Our own title, asked word for word without forcing a search, led with three global self-serve platforms instead, a reminder that shorter questions can pull different names.

The owner's situation mattered too. A Cheras tuition centre asked whether to hire a local company or "just use a platform ourselves". Both answers said start with a platform. A custom build, they said, only pays when the bot has to connect to your student, booking or payment system.

How does ChatGPT pick which WhatsApp chatbot builder to name for my trade and town?

ChatGPT tended to name WhatsApp chatbot builders with a page for the asker's trade, and often said where they were based. For the property agency and restaurant questions, 16 of the 20 links went to a page for that trade, going by its web address.

Location and focus mattered too:

  • Subang and Puchong. In all four answers to the clinic-in-Subang and workshop-in-Puchong questions, the first company named was one ChatGPT described as based in that town. Both companies' own websites give an address there.
  • Cost. Both answers to "how much does it cost to get a WhatsApp chatbot built?" took their budget ranges from one Malaysian agency's cost-guide article.
  • General AI consultancies. Asked twice for the "best AI consulting company in Malaysia" in our 2 October test, ChatGPT named 13 firms. None of them appeared in any WhatsApp answer.

Names shifted between runs, as they always do, but most of the companies named for a property agency on 2 October came back in our 6 October property answers.

Does my WhatsApp chatbot builder need to be a Meta partner?

Your WhatsApp chatbot builder doesn't need to be a Meta partner, according to both ChatGPT answers that addressed it, and Meta's documentation describes more than one route. Meta calls Solution Partners "Meta Business Partners that provide a full range of WhatsApp Business Platform services". Tech Providers can offer them "on their own, or by partnering with a Solution Partner" (Meta). A business can also create its own WhatsApp Business account and share it with a provider.

What ChatGPT did insist on, across answers, is a fair checklist for any owner:

  1. The official WhatsApp Business Platform, not a tool that automates ordinary WhatsApp Web.
  2. The account and number in your own company's name, so you can switch providers later.
  3. Meta's messaging charges in the quote. Since 1 July 2025, "Meta charges on a per-message basis" (Meta pricing), and these can be billed apart from the builder's fee.
  4. A demo with your real customer questions, including mixed BM, English and Chinese messages, and a clear handover to staff.

What doesn't a ChatGPT shortlist tell you about a chatbot builder?

  • Who's good. ChatGPT named companies from what their sites claim. It didn't check their work, and neither did we.
  • The app. We used OpenAI's API with search required. The ChatGPT app, with your chat history, can differ.
  • Other days. This is one week's answers, and the names change between runs.

What should a WhatsApp chatbot company put on its own website?

Put the facts ChatGPT repeated about builders on your own pages, trade by trade.

  1. Find out whether ChatGPT names you today. Our free check asks questions like "My clinic in Subang keeps missing WhatsApp messages after hours. Who can set up a bot to reply and book appointments?", and we go through the answers with you on a free call.
  2. Write one page per trade you serve, such as property, clinics or restaurants, showing the conversations your bot handles for them.
  3. Name your town and service area in plain text, such as Kuala Lumpur, PJ or Puchong; our IT support test covers area pages in more detail.
  4. State the facts buyers check: the official WhatsApp Business Platform, the languages your bots handle, human handover and how you charge.

Chatbot companies can also hand this to EasyFound's AI SEO service. We ask six AI tools the questions your buyers type, in English, Malay and Chinese: ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode. Then we fix the pages they read about you, starting from the free check below.

Frequently asked questions

Who can build a WhatsApp chatbot for my business in the Klang Valley?

ChatGPT will usually name a handful of small Malaysian chatbot companies, though the names shift between asks. In EasyFound's test on 6 October 2026 (OpenAI's API, web search, location Malaysia), we asked ten questions Klang Valley owners might type. The answers named 47 different companies. The companies it named often had a page for the asker's trade on their own website, and it often said where they were based. Treat any list as a starting point and test each company with your own customers' questions.

Does a WhatsApp chatbot company need to be a Meta partner?

Not necessarily. Meta describes Solution Partners as "Meta Business Partners that provide a full range of WhatsApp Business Platform services", and says Tech Providers can offer those services "on their own, or by partnering with a Solution Partner". A business can also create its own WhatsApp Business account and share it with a provider. Both ChatGPT answers to this question in EasyFound's October 2026 test said the helper needn't be a Meta partner; what they insisted on was the official WhatsApp Business Platform.

Should a small business build a custom WhatsApp chatbot or use a platform?

For a simple job, ChatGPT suggested a platform first. Asked twice in EasyFound's October 2026 test whether a tuition centre in Cheras should hire a local company or use a platform, both answers said to start with a platform and pay for a custom build only when the bot must connect to a student, booking or payment system. That's ChatGPT's suggestion, not a rule; it depends on who will maintain the answers.

What should I check before hiring a WhatsApp chatbot builder ChatGPT recommends?

The things ChatGPT itself kept insisting on in EasyFound's October 2026 test: the official WhatsApp Business Platform rather than a tool that automates ordinary WhatsApp Web; the account and number in your own company's name, so you can switch providers; Meta's per-message charges shown in the quote; and a demo with your real customer questions, including mixed BM, English and Chinese messages, with a clear handover to staff.

Our data: EasyFound, ChatGPT answers about WhatsApp chatbot builders in the Klang Valley, 6 October 2026. 20 answers to 10 questions, each asked twice through OpenAI's Responses API, model chat-latest, not the ChatGPT app. Web search was required on every call, the approximate location was Malaysia, there was no chat history, and the system prompt asked ChatGPT to answer "the way ChatGPT would answer a consumer in Malaysia" and to return the companies named as a separate list. The questions were written the way owners type, e.g. "I run a property agency in PJ and want a WhatsApp bot to answer enquiries, who can build one?" We merged spelling variants of one company and counted global self-serve platforms separately from providers. "Linked" means a link a reader sees in the answer, with each site counted once per answer; "in the search results" means pages ChatGPT's web search returned to it. The facts in the table were coded by hand from each answer; a "page for that trade" means the linked web address contains the trade (e.g. property, real-estate, restaurant). The 2 October rows come from EasyFound's industry test (web search available but not required, no system prompt), and the title rows asked this article's title twice the same way on 6 October. Per-answer data (CSV). We don't name chatbot companies, because one week's answers are not a league table.
