What does an AI SEO service actually do each month?
EasyFound · · 7 min read
An AI SEO service checks what AI tools like ChatGPT say about your Malaysian business, fixes your website and your records elsewhere, publishes pages that answer customer questions, then checks again and reports. Each of the five tasks should leave you something to read: questions, changes or a re-check. No service can guarantee a recommendation. Judge a provider by what it hands you each month.
An AI SEO service for a Malaysian business does five things each month: it checks what AI tools such as ChatGPT say about you, fixes what your own website says, corrects your records elsewhere, publishes pages that answer real customer questions, then checks again and reports. Each task should leave you with something you can read.
Picture a renovation firm's owner in Puchong, a month after signing, wondering what was done. ChatGPT won't settle it. We asked it this question twice, and both answers listed ordinary SEO tasks such as keyword research and ranking reports. Neither mentioned checking what AI tools say, the other meaning of "AI SEO".
What does an AI SEO service do each month for a Malaysian business?
An AI SEO service's monthly work for a Malaysian business comes down to five tasks, each with a reason from our tests of ChatGPT's answers to Malaysian buying questions.
| Monthly task | Why it's done (our finding) | What you should receive |
|---|---|---|
| Check what AI tools say: several tools and languages, more than once | Two answers to the same question shared only 15% of the businesses they named | The questions, tools and languages used, and how often you were named |
| Fix your own website: facts, service pages, schema, crawler access | Businesses' own websites were the largest group of pages ChatGPT cited, at 34% | A list of changes to approve, then the pages that changed |
| Fix your records elsewhere: Google Business Profile, registers, directories | Official registers and regulators were 26% of cited pages in the same count, mostly for company secretaries and solar installers | Which records didn't match, and which you may need to change yourself |
| Publish pages that answer real customer questions | When asked in Malay, ChatGPT ran 87% of its web searches in English | Drafts to approve, each tied to a customer question, then the live links |
| Re-check and report | On our site, ChatGPT's search crawler took a median of about three days to fetch a new post it found | The same questions asked again, with what changed and what didn't |
Two of those tasks are easy to pad:
- Crawler access. OpenAI's advice: "we recommend allowing OAI-SearchBot in your site’s robots.txt file"2. In our check, none of 59 robots.txt files blocked ChatGPT, so the real work is usually the firewall and JavaScript.
- Schema. Google says "Structured data isn't required for generative AI search"1. Our reading: a month that was mostly schema is a thin month.
What does a month of AI SEO service look like, week by week?
A month of AI SEO service for a Malaysian business can be laid out as four weeks: check, fix your site, fix records and publish, then re-check. This is our description of typical work, not a survey of providers.
- Week 1: the check. The provider asks your customers' questions in each AI tool, several times, in their languages. You receive: the question list, how often each tool named you, and who it named instead.
- Week 2: your own website. Facts come first, as plain text: what you do, where, your hours and prices. Then a page for each service, and a test that AI crawlers can get in. You receive: the proposed changes, before they go live.
- Week 3: records elsewhere, and new pages. The provider compares your Google Business Profile, register entries and directory listings with your website, and drafts pages for week 1 questions that no page of yours answers. You receive: the mismatches found, and drafts to approve.
- Week 4: the re-check and report. The same questions are asked again, the same way. You receive: a plain report of what changed and what didn't.
Our reading: the first month is mostly weeks 1 and 2, and its re-check often shows little, because a new page can wait days to be fetched. A first report with little movement is normal. A report without the questions behind it is not.

What does EasyFound's AI SEO service do each month?
EasyFound's AI SEO service describes its own work as three steps, repeated: check, fix, re-check. We sell this service, so weigh this section accordingly. This is how our site describes it:
- Check. We ask six AI tools what your customers ask, more than once, in English, Malay and Chinese: ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews and Google AI Mode.
- Fix. We improve what AI reads about you, and you approve every change before it goes live.
- Re-check. We ask the same questions again and show you what changed, and what didn't.
The work is done by EasyFound's founders, by hand, for a small group of businesses. We don't promise a fixed timeline or a result, so the calendar above is a general guide, not our contract. See our AI SEO service page.
What can't an AI SEO service do for a Malaysian business?
An AI SEO service can't guarantee that any AI tool will recommend a Malaysian business, and it can't control what the answer says. Google says as much about its own AI features:
- It can't guarantee a place. Google: "Indexing and serving aren't guaranteed."1
- It has no inside access. Google: "No third-party tool has access to our internal ranking or AI systems."1
- Our findings have limits too. They come from ChatGPT through OpenAI's API, not the app, and other AI tools may weigh sources differently.
How do I judge an AI SEO service's monthly work for my business?
You can judge an AI SEO service's monthly work by what it hands you: the questions, the changes and the re-check.
- Request EasyFound's free check. See what ChatGPT says about your business, then go through it with us on a free call.
- Ask any provider for last month's question list, with the AI tools, languages and number of repeats.
- Ask to see every change before it goes live, on your website and on your listings.
- Compare the re-check with the first check, question by question, over several months.

Frequently asked questions
What should a monthly AI SEO report include?
A monthly AI SEO report should list the customer questions that were asked, which AI tools and languages were checked, how many times each question was asked, how often your business was named and who was named instead. It should also list every change made to your website and listings that month. In EasyFound's Malaysian tests through OpenAI's API, two ChatGPT answers to the same question shared only 15% of the businesses named, so a report built on one answer per question tells you little.
Is AI SEO a one-off fix or do I need it every month?
Part of AI SEO is one-off and part repeats. Letting AI crawlers read your website and putting your facts on it are mostly done once. Checking the answers, publishing pages for new customer questions and re-checking repeat, because AI answers change from one asking to the next and the web they draw on keeps changing. Whether you pay someone for the repeating part or do it yourself is a separate choice.
Can an AI SEO agency in Malaysia guarantee ChatGPT will recommend my business?
No. Google's guide to its own AI search features says 'Indexing and serving aren't guaranteed', and that 'No third-party tool has access to our internal ranking or AI systems'. A service can improve what AI tools are able to read about your business. It can't control what they write, so treat a guaranteed ChatGPT recommendation as a warning sign.
Is the monthly work of an AI SEO service different from normal SEO?
It overlaps with normal SEO, with one extra job: reading the AI answers themselves. Google says optimising for its AI search features is 'still SEO', so crawlable pages and clear content serve both. What a ranking report doesn't show is what ChatGPT says when a customer asks about your trade. When EasyFound asked ChatGPT what an AI SEO service does each month, both answers described keyword and ranking work, and neither mentioned checking AI answers.
How long after the first month will ChatGPT notice the changes?
No AI company publishes a timetable. On EasyFound's own website, ChatGPT's search crawler took a median of about three days to first fetch the new posts it reached. More than half of the posts we published hadn't been fetched when the watch ended. Being fetched is not the same as being cited in an answer, so judge progress over several monthly re-checks, not one.

Our data: every figure is reused from an earlier EasyFound test with the same definition and total as the article that owns it. No new counts were made for this guide. All tests asked ChatGPT through OpenAI's Responses API with web search and approximate location Malaysia, not the ChatGPT app.
- Answer overlap (15%): 45 Malaysian buying questions in English, Malay and Chinese, three runs each, 24 September 2026 (gpt-5.4-mini); overlap of businesses named between pairs of runs of the same question. CSV.
- Cited pages (34% and 26%): 482 pages ChatGPT cited in 135 answers from the same test, classified by source type; 164 were businesses' own websites and 125 were official registers, regulators and professional bodies, 107 of those for company secretary and solar questions. CSV.
- Search language (87%): 109 of 126 web searches ChatGPT ran for the Malay questions in that test were in English. CSV.
- robots.txt (none of 59): robots.txt files read on 26 September 2026 from sites ChatGPT cited and from Malaysian business websites; 59 files could be read, and none blocked GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot or ChatGPT-User. CSV.
- Crawler timing (about three days): server logs for 33 articles published on easyfound.co from 25 September to 2 October 2026, watched until 3 October; OAI-SearchBot fetched 15, with a median wait of 70.5 hours. One small website, so read it as an example. CSV.
- ChatGPT's own answer to this question: two runs on 10 October 2026 (gpt-5.4-mini, web search available). Neither run searched the web.
